Shipping Alerts & Weather Updates

Updated as needed to keep our tiny travelers safe.

We actively monitor weather conditions along the shipping route to ensure the safety of our spiders. During periods of unsafe weather — including cold temperatures, excessive heat, or severe storms — shipping may be delayed or temporarily held. This weather-aware approach allows us to ship only when conditions are safe for our tiny travelers. Current alerts and seasonal shipping updates will be listed below as needed.

Current Alert

COLD WEATHER HOLD: Orders will be held if overnight lows fall below 38°F to ensure the safety of our spiders. Shipping resumes once temperatures improve.

Estimated Next Ship Date: March 3rd (if your temperatures meet the guidelines below)

We expect conditions to be safe for shipping around this date, but delays may occur if temperatures don’t improve. Refer to the temperature guidelines below to determine shipping eligibility and current shipping status (based on the shipping ZIP code).

We recommend checking temperatures for your delivery location here and viewing our shipping policy.

Updates will be posted here. (Last updated 2/25/26)

Planning Made Easy

Everything you need to plan a safe delivery

If shipping to a FedEx hub, you must provide the address of an official FedEx Ship Center, not a FedEx Office/Kinko’s, Walgreens, Pak Mail, or other retail location. These retail outlets are independently owned and will not accept live invertebrate shipments.

A helpful way to find only official FedEx facility hubs is to use the link below and apply the “Dangerous Goods” filter. While invertebrates are not considered dangerous goods, this filter will return only true FedEx Ship Centers that are able to hold live shipments.

Temperature Guideline

SEVERE WEATHER DELAY: Shipping may be delayed due to severe weather conditions such as storms, flooding, or regional carrier disruptions. Orders will ship once routes are deemed safe.

HEAT WEATHER HOLD: Due to high temperatures along shipping routes, orders may be temporarily held during extreme heat conditions. Shipping resumes once temperatures are within a safe range.
